Eight site checks: coverage and structures
Keep the answers, photographs and measurements together on an annotated site drawing.
Protected assets and boundary
Outline the assets requiring monitoring: a switchyard, terminal, depot or campus perimeter. Distinguish priority areas from the wider property.
Distances and elevation
Record distances from candidate sensor positions to the coverage boundary, including ground-level differences.
Mounting positions
Identify available poles, roofs and structures; record height, load capacity, maintenance access and access restrictions.
Obstructions and horizon
Photograph surrounding buildings, trees, cranes and terrain that could obstruct RF sensing, radar or camera views.
Eight site checks: infrastructure and operations
Detection and response equipment must meet applicable local authorisation and site safety requirements.
Radio environment
Record nearby Wi-Fi, microwave links, mobile infrastructure and site transmitters; attach available RF survey results.
Electrical supply
Document voltage, available capacity, circuit ownership, protection and backup power at each proposed equipment location.
Network and control room
Describe cable routes, network restrictions, operator locations and existing video-management or command systems.
Authority and procedures
Name the alarm owner, escalation contact and authorised response role; attach the relevant incident procedure.
